Gender Justice:
“Eradication of gender discrimination and to create an environment that supports violence free life for Women” is the motto of ISWO. We have been Dealing the cases of women atrocity and on VAW issues for more than 35 years with continues effort through our Human Rights activities. During these years ISWO has strengthen its network within law enforcement system and district administrative of Dhenkanal through several workshops, training awareness programme and rallies etc. In an organised office premise We are able to create a space in District police Office of Dhenkanal as Surakhya Mahila Prakostha(Women Support Center) since August 2007. Till date more than 3000 cases have been registered and intervened in cell concerning domestic violence, deprivation, dowry torture, rape, harassment at workplace, atrocity cases etc
Working With Laws:
As far Law concerned since inception ISWO has been closely associates Laws, Legal awareness, and legal action etc. And also it has been made pressure on district judiciary and administrative for implementation of laws whether it may regards to violation of women and child rights, cases of atrocity, harassment and of course human rights.Awareness and sensitization campaign/Programs on anti-liquor,Female Foeticide,witch craft,Violence against women,POCSO,Dowry eradication etc.

Our aim is Promotion & protection of human rights in general & women rights & child rights in particular.We work to reduce violence against women& to promote social,political & economical entailments of women for a gender just society.

Child Welfare
Supporting Children’s cause has always remained an integral part of our organization since children are honorable by nature and by civilizations and societies. With our limited resources we have been running a child care institution (CCI) called Biswakuntal Children’s Home at Mahulpada of Dhenkanal. It is registered under J.J. Act by district administration and monitored regularly by CWC and DCPU of Dhenkanal district. Recently it is a home to 50 children(both boys & girls) who are orphan, destitute, children of prisoners, Neglected children,child of incapacitated family or child labour and Beggar. Apart from free lodging and boarding the children are extended total health and recreational care along with school and home teaching. Vocational training is given to them to empower them for their future livelihood. Now 15 dedicated staffs are engaged for the construction of these children’s future.
Education
Education is a process of character building, strengthening mind and expansion of intellect. The organization have taken several steps to meet the educational needs of children mostly dropouts, laborers ,deprived children & for the CNCP child. The objective of the programmes is to make school going of under privileged children of most backward and tribal


Agriculture
ISWO has started promotion of SRI (System of rice intensification) & BGREI(Bringing Green Revolution in Eastern India)in 2006 without any external funding support for demonstrating the practice. However, with the support from SDTT, the organisation has worked in various villages to reach to more no of small and marginal farmers for ensuring their food security. The project has been successful as the farmers are innovative and receptive to SRI and organic farming. Along with it we have been also giving training programs to the farmers and women about different types of farming i.e Raagi & Millet Farming,Mushroom Cultivation,Kitchen Garden,Haldi Processing,Fishery,Ground Nut Cultivation,Goat Farming etc
Empowerment through Income generative activities:
We have been promoting various women SHGs as well as individuals by giving training and mainstreaming them in the field of tailoring,Agarbatti making ,Dokra Crft,Candle making,Puffed rice making,Bamboo craft,leaf cup plate making,vermi compost making,hand wash & detergent making,phenyl making,cotton doll making,
Health & Sanitation:-
We’ve been organizing Sensitization programs on health and sanitation to the community groups through training, meeting and providing health kits, special health camp on mother & child health, Immediate health related support for survivors of VAW & DVAW.
ISWO has been also organizing Health camps in different panchayats in targeted area. The organisation found female life expectancy is low due to ignorance of diseases, malnutrition and negligence. Hence every year we organize panchayat level to block level health camp to avail health and disease related information like safe delivery, reproductive health, some chronic and hazardous diseases in the door steps. ISWO is also organizing Panchayat and block level HIV & AIDS awareness and blood testing camps.
Cultural programme for awareness Generation:
ISWO believes in cultural programme as one or the powerful weapon to feed inputs in the minds of the people especially in making people aware about their own situation created by social norms and values and take proper decision. ISWO has cultural team named “Ekata Vahini” .Through performances it provides platforms of dissemination of solution against social prejudice especially against women. The performances of the troupe of various themes has been acclaimed at Nation and International level. It performs plays on different sensitive issues like domestic violence, dowry torture, HIV & AIDS , T.B, sexual harassment at work place, Environmental exploitation, anti-liquor, Female Foeticide, witch craft, Violence against women, POCSO, Dowry eradication, child labour, child marriage, malaria eradication & various health and sanitation related awareness programs.
